2018 Hyundai Sonata Review

The name Hyundai is synonymous with delivering cars that have gone on to be one of the best models for a specific year. However, not all of the cars are considered a great success, especially not the 2015 Sonata model. It failed to grab an audience back in the day and it seems that the famous company is interested in offering it again to the current consumer. The 2018 Hyundai Sonata can be defined as a relaunch of the company’s seventh-generation (mid-size) sedan that was launched back in 2015. Is the refresh good enough to attract consumers this time around? Let’s find out by looking at the 2018 Hyundai Sonata review.

Exterior

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata does seem to boast a new look. The company has definitely reworked everything about the car’s exterior since it was released in 2015. The new model has a more muscular look. Furthermore, the new cascading grille design adds a unique factor. The lower fascia is more aggressive. There are also new headlights. The hood of the car has also been reshaped to appeal to modern consumers. Coming to the rear, you’ll notice a new trunk lid along with a new rear bumper and taillights.

Interior

While the interior of the 2018 Hyundai Sonata has been reworked, the same isn’t true for the interior. The company has made some changes but they can only be described as a ‘light’ retouch at best. The center stack has an intuitive layout along with employing controls and knobs that exude a feeling of better quality. You’ll also notice that the car has a new steering wheel (three-spoke).

There’s also a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The said system has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The seats are comfortable. Furthermore, the reshaped exterior allows for more interior space. The overall drive will prove to be comfortable. Also, the car’s new Smart mode is able to automatically switch to Comfort, Sport, and Eco programming. Such a switch happens to be based on certain conditions as well as driving style.

Features

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata is available in various trims. You can go for SE, Sport, Eco, Limited, Sport 2.0T, Limited 2.0T, and even a new SEL trim. Features such as a power driver’s seat, proximity key and push-button start, heated front seats, along with a USB port for passengers in the rear are standard on the SEL trim. There’s also the automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and more. Features such as automatic headlights and blind-spot monitoring system are a standard on all trims of this car.
